What is Competency-Based Assessment Framework
The competency assessment framework consists of seven competency categories, which involves 34 skills or simply competencies:
- Project and financial management [5 competencies]
- Technical competence [10 competencies]
- Team effectiveness [2 competencies]
- Communication [3 competencies]
- Economic, Social, Environmental, and sustainability [5 competencies]
- Continuous professional development (CPD) [3 competencies]
- Team effectiveness [2 competencies]
These areas are the ones in which the engineers should show their competencies and ensure the safety of the public as well as proper practice. Each competency, in turn, consists of key competencies required in that specific area. You can refer to the complete competency assessment guide for further specifications, which are also posted in the related documents below.
NB: Achievement of the applicants in the exact category would be tested with the help competency assessment scale, which ranks the competencies in six different levels. It must be noted that the applicants must achieve a minimum of 1st level in each category and must be in level 2-3 for gaining approval for entry-level practice.
