ACS key areas of knowledge in case of RPL has been generated by the ACS core body of Knowledge i.e., CBOK. This works as a guide for applicants who does not have formal ICT qualification equivalent to Australian Degree or Diploma. However, they have abundant experience in this field and thus they are qualified for the RPL report and showcase their understanding. This is one of the major features of the RPL report that it is able to provide applicants without tertiary ICT qualifications to prove their competencies. Through the RPL report, the applicants are able to portray that they have desirable competencies relevant to the Key Areas of Knowledge.
RPL report typically has two sections:
Section 1: Key Areas of Knowledge
Section 2: RPL project report
You have to fill up RPL form in this section and mention all your qualifications, competencies and experiences. Meet the selected topics from Areas of Knowledge. You must be able to explain how your experiences and qualifications that meet the selected topics of Key Areas of Knowledge. For understanding and meeting the requirements, make sure to read The ACS Core Body of Knowledge for ICT Professionals (CBOK). Two topics should be chosen here, one should be based on Essential Core ICT Knowledge (Topic 1 or 2) and another topic should be from General ICT Knowledge (Topic 3/4 Or 5). Make sure to choose at least 2 subtopics from the main topics.
